Google Whole Home WIFI Review

What’s up? I will be showing you a pure product review and experience of our Google WIFI that we acquired couple of weeks ago now. It’s been quite a while since we subscribed to PLDT Fibr and interestingly we had a nice experience almost throughout the term tho we had some hiccups on some fibr related problems so as seldom system issues which is enevitable.

I may consider this as well as one of my in-depth review of the product since i am using it for about a month now and it was awesome!

Google WIFI was offered to me by PLDT since i am one of their high speed subscriber which is undeniably great and consistent on delivering our whole family’s internet speed needs for day to day. Without further ado, let’s jump right into it and get this thing started:

It arrived packed nicely, actually i did a youtube raw video unboxing of these you can watch it here. After unboxing it i set it up right away so that i can start using it as early as possible. And to hype it up a lil bit more, we purchased a mounting kit for them and it was cool and much more organized.

Google WIFI is the next generation router made by google itself here is some basic product specification of it:

So basically physicall and technical specs is pretty cool already no wonder it can perform beyond my expectation.

It has an application where you can manage and view all the information and stats you need on day to day basis as well as the records or backlogs.

It is called Google WIFI App

Once you have the Google wifi points or access points all you have to do is plug it in and hook it up and use the app to link it and set it up, no worries moving forward because all you have to do is to follow the app instruction til the end.

Once the setup is complete you will be taken over to your app homepage

You can manage everything inside the app from settings, security and live monitoring. Tho it lacks on intensive network monitoring maybe google intentionally take it away coz they claimed this piece of technology is so smart that it can manage itself, why? Because it will automatically switch to a different channel where there is less stress and traffic to make sure you will get the best out of your connection most of the time.

And since we do have 3 of it i positioned it all with a triangular shape angled at 45° vertically to ensure the maximum signal coverage and to eliminate dead spots.

  • 1 Google AP @ Living Room
  • 1 Google AP @ Master Bedroom
  • 1 Google AP @ My Bedroom

This is how it looks in the app. You can see the signal strength all of them in great standing.

Also in the homepage you can see all current devices connected to the network along with their usage.

Might as well lemme share the mount setup of the main Google AP that can be found on our living room

It was hooked up directly from PLDT main router and wirelessy hooked up aswell to 2 other APs.

And this was a sample speedtest of every Wifi enabled devices connected to all points.

So, what can i say? Google WiFi is a really good router and it is worth the bucks if you were gonna asking for my opinion.

Never had a problem, not a single one when i am playing online games or either downloading anything.

Speed? Perfect!!

Network management? It’s good too!

Realiability? Hmm perfect. You can really rely on it.

Advance features for users? Hmm BIG NO NO on this one. Since google only allows us to change some of it so if you are into digging deep this is not for you.

All in all for me? I can vouch for this tech. BUY IT AND U WON’T REGRET IT!!
